According to Energy Star, currently in the average U.S. household, 40% of all electricity used to power home electronics is consumed while the products are turned off but still plugged in. Across the country, this equals the annual output of 17 power plants. That is a lot of wasted energy!Utilize a power strip for your printer, monitor, speakers etc. and turn off everything at once when you turn off your computer. Power strips are also great for gaming consoles, phone chargers and all those miscellaneous electronics.
