I don't know about you but I really like the space saving convenience of plastic zip bags for packing on-the-go lunches and snacks and have not been able to find a suitable alternative... until now.

Traditionally Arbor Day is observed on the last Friday in April. If you recall our weather a few weeks ago, it was not exactly tree planting weather. So why not plant a tree this weekend? Fantastic Fourth Graders

These fourth grade students at the School of Arts and Engineering are busy writing and drawing in their SEA notebooks during the Human Powered Generator activity there last week.  Thanks for being a fantastic and inquisitive audience and for being awesome power generators! Fabulous First Graders

   

Here are just a few of the fabulous first graders at the School of Arts and Engineering. These students got to try out the Human Powered Generator and learn first hand about the difference between powering up a CFL bulb verses an incandescent bulb. What a fun activity and great visual. The girls and boys asked a lot of great questions about energy. Thanks for inviting me into your classrooms at SEA!

 

Earth Week Every Week

Thank you to the students in Ms. McCarty's and Mr. Neals' classes at Cooper who participate in green activities all year long. These students collect paper to shred and then every two weeks they bring the finished product to the Humane Society for the puppies. The students also have another activity involving reusing and recycling materials, they gather envelope inserts and postcards inserted into magazines. The students sort these by size, insert the cards into envelopes and use these materials in various pre-vocational activities and then shred them. Thanks for doing your part to make the earth a little greener, you are Energy Rock Stars!
